What a morning could hold
We all like our coffee cups full early in the morning. It gets us started. It's a nice routine, and something we enjoy.
If we think of our children, they might need their cups filled too — and not with coffee. What if we thought of mornings as our chance to fill their little cups for the day? To send them out with the kind of good feeling that will carry them into the rest of it.
Mornings often move fast. We hurry them to get dressed, eat their breakfast, be out the door. We get frustrated if they forget a binder or water bottle. And in the rush, the small chance to shape the day quietly slips away.
But it doesn't have to.
We can slow the pace by planning ahead and getting up a little earlier. We can learn their rhythms and create a routine they enjoy.
Maybe music helps the groggy ones find their mood. Maybe sharing something to look forward to after school puts a spring in their step. Maybe a small question over breakfast — what are you hoping for today? — sets a warmer tone than hurry up.
Send them off happy.
The tone of a morning shapes the tone of a day. And one small question can change it.
KindCoin is a behavior and reflection app for families. Kids check in on kindness habits, write what happened, and parents write back. We're inviting a small group of founding families to try it — free through beta and six months after.
